Why use DHTML
DHTML is a method used to design web pages by mixing HTML, CSS and scripting.  DHTML gives the designer control over web page positioning, look and behavior. You'll need knowledge of HTML, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and some scripting language such as JavaScript or VB script. You'll also need Internet Explorer 4+ or Netscape Navigator 4+. DHTML gives you the ability to position elements of a web page to precise (x,y,z) coordinates and dynamically change this position with a script. Every property of a web page element can be altered with the use of a script language. Various elements of a web page such as images and blocks of text are organized into groups with the <div> or <layer> tags. These groups are given a list of properties using the cascading style sheet specification and a name to distinguish them from each other. Through the use of a DHTML script, you can dynamically change the CSS attributes of each group.

Most scripts listed are either public domain or freeware unless otherwise stated. While most scripts are submitted to us, some have been found in public script libraries. If we are in error, please tell us and we will either remove the script or update the author data accordingly. Proof of copyright must be submitted to us. Authors may or may not be mentioned with or without link depending on author's wishes. Unless otherwise stated, all scripts are freeware and therefore free to use on your web page(s), provided you leave any copyright message as is.
